Mark WrighteCoach Mark Wrighte enters his 12th season as a high school coach at Freedom in South Riding, VA. Prior to coaching high school, he was one the founders of the Loudoun South Travel Baseball program before leaving in 2011 to pursue Showcase Baseball. In showcase, Mark has coached in several national tournaments and been keenly involved in the recruiting process for hundreds of players. Mark is the podcast host of the “Real Recruiting Story,” which features candid conversations from college players talking about their personal journey navigating the college recruiting process. Mark also serves as the Commissioner of the burgeoning new Loudoun Baseball League which started running highly competitive youth tournaments in fall 2020, which included 16 separate teams from four different states. Mark owns and and operates “Rip City,” an indoor baseball/softball facility which continues to serve as a venue for both professionals and college players, as well as high school and youth players who are looking to train with their teams, or on an individual basis. At the high school level, Mark accepted his first coaching position on the JV staff in 2008 and would later mature into numerous coaching roles over the ensuing decade, including Varsity Assistant and ultimately Head Coach. Freedom HS has claimed three district championships, one Regional title and played in three State Tournaments. Mark has served as a clinician at multiple venues in the DC Metro area where he generally speaks on the technical aspects of hitting, baserunning, and outfield play. ArchivesCategories |
