Competition
NVTBL schedules teams by age and level of play to create competitive matchups and parody throughout the season. Each age group is divided into 2-3 divisions: Metro/Elite, AAA and AA. Each division is a different level of play. Teams register for the level of play that best suits their team and are scheduled only teams in their age and division. NVTBL prefers teams end the season winning between 35-65% of games. Teams that are above or below that threshold are subject to a change in division by league administrators.
- Metro/Elite division: Top level of play. Teams typically finish in top 3 in tournaments. Depth of pitching and hitting.
- AAA division: All-around strong teams that can compete with Metro level teams. Can compete in tournaments and usually has 3-5 strong pitchers and hitters.
- AA division: Lowest level of play. Developmental teams who are new to travel baseball. 1-2 strong pitchers and hitters.
Tournaments
End of season tournaments are divided by age group and level of play. Each age group has a Silver and Gold bracket. Silver brackets are exclusively for AA teams and AAA teams with losing records. Gold brackets are exclusively for Metro teams and AAA teams with winning records. Tournaments typically schedule 2 pool play games to seed single elimination bracket play (3 game guarantee).
